Guatemala Posts and Telegraphs has suspended all international mail services to ease a backlog of parcels that has accumulated as it faces staffing difficulties. Please defer sending mail to the country until normal operations resume.
Australia Post has advised that all postal delivery services are back to normal in Queensland and New South Wales.
Suriname Postal Corporation has advised that there have been delays in the processing and delivery of all postal items since 4 April 2017, due to a labour dispute.
Poste Italiane has advised that the processing of registered mail will be delayed and status updates for registered items may lag or be incomplete due to system upgrading. Additionally, a 24-hour national strike is planned for 5 April 2017. This will cover the entire air transport sector including pilots, air traffic controllers and ground handling staff. The strike is expected to cause delays for all mail and SpeedPost items.
Deliveries of registered and ordinary mail to Canada (postcodes A, B, C, E, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T, V, X and Y) may be delayed by as much as several months. Canada Post has alerted that it is working with the Canadian Border Services Agency to resolve delays in processing international inbound mail through its Vancouver facility, its gateway for mail originating from the Asia-Pacific.
